In Steve's own words

I come from a background of being a professional sportsman and coach. 

One of the things I learned throughout this experience is how to win. 

Since retiring from sport over 30 years ago, I went into business helping others to win in business. I work with coaches, consultants and people in the helping industry.

I realised fairly early on that 80% of businesses fail within the first five years and I believe that this is a really alarming statistic. 

If you look at the reason why, it's mainly because of lack of sales. Let's face it, most business owners have very little training in sales and marketing, and that often means that they don't create enough sales, and without sales, there is no business.

I believe business is all about numbers. Not just financial numbers but the numbers behind those financial numbers, like the number of leads you get, or your meeting conversion rates, or where those leads come from, and I believe in holding businesses accountable for their sales and marketing results.

Over the last 30 years, I've developed a program called Results Mastery. During that time, this has been tweaked, improved, and developed to become a highly successful 5-step business development program delivered over a 12-month period.

The six step RESULTS Mastery System

Step 1 - Know what you want and beleive you will get it

It all starts with knowing what you want and developing the right mindset. If you don't know what you want, then all roads lead there.

If you don't believe you're going to win, you're probably going to be right. 

Step 2 - Take action to create more sales

Essential to all success is taking action.

A lot of people know what they want, and, some have a plan for achieving it, but they never do enough to win.

This lack of effort and results is often the missing ingredient in winning in business. 

Simply doing more will help you get better results and to win the game called growing your business.

 

Step 3 - Measure your RESULTS

Next comes accountability. You cannot manage what you do not measure.

I hold my clients accountable and make sure that they measure their sales and marketing results.

Step 4 - Improve your RESULTS

Next comes results improvement. The truth of the matter is that the current results that you are achieving are nowhere near the level that you could get if you…

  1. Improved your sales and marketing system. 

  2.  Took more action

  3.  Improved the effectiveness of the actions that you're taking

  4. And then introduced new additional streams of income.

Step 5 Change your approach

The truth of the matter is...

No matter how good you are at something, sometimes things don't work.

I know myself. I've tried many different marketing approaches, and many of them didn't work. The important thing here is to change your approach.

The problem is that most businesses keep doing the same thing again and again, expecting a different result. Once described doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result as the definition of insanity.

All I know is that sales and marketing are not exact sciences, and to do both, you need to change your approach if it's not working.

Step 6 - Modelling

The final piece to the jigsaw puzzle is something that I call modeling. If you want to win, you need to find what works by model that success by doing the same things and therefore getting the same or at least similar results.
